After anchoring at Pelican Bay for a few days we motored down to Tin Can Bay. The name is very inviting and after a few days of travelling across to land in our dinghy to see the town coupled with a failing generator we found our selves booked into the marina. The failing generator meant no hot water. And, whilst we accept our chosen lifestyle has limitations we have become accustomed to some privileges. Hot water is one, the internet is another – oh, we are unique! Tin Can Bay is a quiet, pretty town and if anyone is looking for a getaway where you can chill out and relax then I can recommend Tin Can Bay. We were there outside of holiday season and it’s quite obvious this town is a holiday town and so I expect the population growth changes alot come summer. For us, we had a seriously relaxing time at Tin Can Bay whilst we waited for our generator parts to be shipped around Australia before they landed at our door step. Thanks to Bazza, all the staff at the Chandelry and Ray from Bay Fabrications for their support in our generator repairs and solar panel modifications. Also, honourable mentions go to Ric Jaw, Deborah, Jeffrey, Janelle and all the locals of Tin Can Bay who made us feel welcomed. |
