A function in Melbourne in August has us heading south from the Whitsunday’s. So, we will head for land and organise to park the boat for a month whilst we retrieve the car from Bundaberg. We had options of either Abel Point Marina, Laguna or Mackay. Mackay was in our original plans but my dad moved out and headed for Brisbane so Dave and I figured there was no longer a need to travel as far south as Mackay given the predominant south-east winds. Here is a picture of Pentecost Island which is south of Hamilton. |

Not having to get back to Mackay also meant we had time for another stop over somewhere near by – so we decided to head for Lindeman Island. |

We caught a bus up to the top of the island and manage to time it for a magic sunset over the golf course. All loaded up with our shower gear we took a desperately needed hot shower (which is still a privillage and not achievable aboard our boat regardless of the thousands of dollars paid to Hervey Bay marine). |
