Bundaberg

Here we are anchored 4 miles into the Burnett River. The township of Bundabeg is a further hour (7 miles) and requires an appropriate tide height to navigate. It’s been a long day sail from Hervey Bay so we opted to anchor short of the township.

A discussion with some friends in Bundaberg & a quick call to the marina had us up anchor & charging into the township.
We were in two minds whether to further delay our travel by a two to three day stop or to skip further north for Mackay.
In April we had said to some friends “meet us up at Hamilton in August”.
We thought 4 months would give us plenty of time. Now we are concerned we might not make it.
Cold Showers due to generator problems were sufficient motivation to head up river.
