Today, we moved from Bundaberg and travelled over 60 miles to Pancake Creek. It was an uneventful, yet comfortable day sail with this recently restored lighthouse reflecting our largest “high-light” for the day. We anchored late in the afternoon and as we sat to relax with an ale taking in our views, the sun went…

Bundaberg
Here we are anchored 4 miles into the Burnett River. The township of Bundabeg is a further hour (7 miles) and requires an appropriate tide height to navigate. Itâââ‰â¢s been a long day sail from Hervey Bay so we opted to anchor short of the township.
Hervey Bay
From Fraser Island we planned to head directly for Bundaberg. However, a strong wind warning came out on the day we left and given our continued troubles with the generator we thought maybe Hervey Bay (Urangan) would offer both a releif from the weather and a permanent solution for the generator. Well we were right…
Day out at Fraser Island
A sunset at Tin Can Bay
After anchoring at Pelican Bay for a few days we motored down to Tin Can Bay. The name is very inviting and after a few days of travelling across to land in our dinghy to see the town coupled with a failing generator we found our selves booked into the marina. The failing generator meant…
Sunset at Tin Can Bay
After a pleasant stay at Pelican bay, the generator decided to pack it in. I deduced that the major problem was the impellor. We made the decision to motor into Tin Can Bay and order some new parts so that we could get the old Onan running again. This turned out to be a very…
Mooloolaba
After leaving Brisbane River, we headed to Mooloolaba with the intention of staying only for a short while. We were offered a good deal at the Wharf marina and ended up staying for three months. Mooloolaba is a very beautiful town and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would not hesitate in staying there…
Sunset at Clarence River
We arrived at the Clarence River after dark. It was quite a challenge sailing into the river at night into unknown territory, with a miriad of channel markers. We found a safe anchorage and next day motored upstream towards Harwood Bridge. Got some great photos of the sun setting and rising. The following day, having the…
Sydney Harbour – maintenance
A birds eye view. Replacing the cups on the wind speed/direction indicator at the top of the main mast. Unfortunately this instrument decided not to work a few weeks later. Probably was somewhwere in the cabling between the mast head and the rear cockpit.
